Caring
for native wildlife is no easy task! As
any experienced carer will tell you, it is
a pre-requisite to have mountains of
perseverance and dedication!
There are also some great reference
books that have been written by
wildlife carers. These are packed full
of information that is a must for any
carer or prospective carer.
The Green
Guide to Kangaroos & wallabies,
written by
Lee Curtis contains a wealth of
material about our most popular
macropods. This guide is available
through
FNQ Wildlife Rescue and
selected outlets.
Another very good reference book is
called Macropology and has been written
by Cheryl Dooley. This guide is very
comprehensive and covers many species of
macropod. Cheryl's book is available
online and can be downloaded from her
website.
Another book that is a wealth of
information is called Kangaroos - Our
Gentle Aussie Icons, by Pat O'Brien. The
book can be purchased

members. This is a quality publication
and contains many interesting articles
about various wildlife species. It is
